A Thing or Two About a Tune or Two : Refinersfire Remembers Robin

Robin Williams

Like millions of fans around the world, we here at Refinersfire are mourning the loss of one of the world’s finest entertainers. Robin Williams is perhaps best remembered for his iconic film and television roles, but it should also be noted that the Academy Award winning actor had a significant recording career and won 5 Grammy Awards in his lifetime. The soundtrack to the film Good Morning, Vietnam won Best Comedy Recording in 1988. You can watch some of the best scenes from the film below.

That same year he collaborated with Ry Cooder on Pecos Bill which won a Grammy for Best Recording for Children.

Pecos Bill

The consummate performer, Robin Williams was a great song and dance man too. Here are a few of our favorite Robin Williams musical moments.

Dancing with Craig Ferguson to “Oops I Did it Again”

Collaboration with Bobby McFerrin on “Come Together”

Blame Canada at the 72nd Academy Awards

Robin Williams as Elmer Fudd singing Bruce Springsteen

“A Mi Manera” (My Way) in Happy Feet

“A Friend Like Me” from Aladdin

Thank you for the laughter and joy, Robin. You will be missed.
