This year marks the 150th birthday of the great German Romantic composer Richard Strauss’ (1864-1949) birthday. Strauss is perhaps best known for his vocal writing including his operas Der Rosenkavalier, Salome, and his lieder including his four last songs and some of my personal favorites “Zueignung”, “Allerseelen”, and “Morgen”. Take a moment today to celebrate great music that matters by listening to one of the videos below of Richard Strauss’ work.
